I am a GIS operator and a software developer and I work in a water company. I'm involved with developing and maintaining operation maintenance applications. I am a well known user of GIS and also a python back-end developer mainly specialized in Django and Rest-API and databases like PostgreSQL and MySQL. I have two applications built for the needs of my company which are internal. The first one is a geoportal which visualizes all the necessary objects in layers and consists some mapping tools. I used Django, JavaScript, Geoserver, PostgreSQL and the leaflet library. The second application is called maintenance management application, it is a mobile application built with Django and Angular uses the PostgreSQL database. This app is used by all the workers in the company and it provides them a possibility to report a defect with specific coordinates, can trigger work-orders, provides the possibility of the field workers to report on the objects they are in charge for example reading water-meters, the state of the water source, a pump-station, manhole, pipe etc.
